Introduction

The Tourism Skills Network Gloucestershire was established in 2002 by Destination Bristol through a South West of England Regional Development Agency initiative to promote the productivity and business competitiveness of the tourism sector in the South West.

As the Gloucestershire 'arm' of the Tourism Skills Network South West it works with employers to identify training needs and deliver programmes in partnership with training agencies to improve the skills base and capacity of the workforce, as well as promoting tourism as a career of first choice.

How are we managed?

The Network is directed by 'The TSN Steering Group'- an industry-led group committed to increasing business competitiveness in the hospitality and tourism industry in Gloucestershire. Current industry members include representatives from Calcot Manor, Tudor Farm House Hotel, The National Arboretum: Westonbirt, WWT Slimbridge, Three Ways House Hotel, Badger Towers, British Hospitality Association, Cowley B&B and Prestbury House Hotel.

The Steering Group meets three times a year to identify current skills issues facing industry and to direct the work of the Tourism Skills Network.

Business representatives with a passion for skills and training and who would like to get involved should contact Kelly Gingell on 01242 864167 or email kelly.gingell@gloucestershire.gov.uk

Kelly Gingell is the current Project Co-ordinator who reports to, and is directed by, the Steering Group and Regional Tourism Skills Director.
